Subway Ramadhan Meal Special

                                                                                      On the Menu
Subway is offering a Ramadhan meal special all throughout Ramadhan. This offer runs from 21st July to 18th August 2012. The meal consists of a choice of 6in sub, a drink (16oz) and a cookie. All for RM 9.90! Now you can find a subway on the way home or close to home and get one when go to the local Pasar Ramadhan. You can choose from either a BMT, Chicken Slice or Chicken Teriyaki sub.
Everyone can enjoy this because the offer runs all day long!

There is a catch though. Since the offer is not good with any other offers, including Sub of the The Day, you can't have the Ramadhan meal with

  • a BMT sub on Monday
  • a Chicken Slice sub on Friday
  • a Chicken Teriyaki sub on Sunday
Who cares! It's still a good deal all week long, all month long.

Find Subway outlets

                                                                                      Outlet
Hankering for a sub? Where is the nearest Subway outlet? Had a crappy morning and need to sink your teeth into a warm fresh crispy sub? How can you locate the Subway closest to you? To find a Subway restaurant or outlet, use the official Subway locator. This is an interactive map that you can use to find an outlet near you. It will search based on a simple address and given distance from the address. The locations of the outlets will be shown on a map. This is where it gets a bit tricky. The map will show the locations of the restaurants that are listed on the page. If there are more locations close by, you have to view the next page to see more restaurants on the map. For KL, which has a high density of restaurants, this is confusing because it does not show you the closest restaurants first.
The map is not hard to use but can be sometime very wrong in terms of location. Try entering KLCC and see where they put the star. But the results are still valid because it does show the closest restaurants within a mile.
There is another option you can use. You can also find Subway restaurants with the Subway country page's official locator. This is a form based search which only gives you the address of the restaurant. You have to use another map like Google Map to find your way to that location. The search regularly fails if you don't put in a zip code or post code. Even if you enter the location correctly, it will fail because the address is entered in their database wrong. At least with the official subway locator, it will give you results based on an approximate location because it's based on Google Maps.
If don't believe me, try looking for the Wangsa Walk Mall outlet and see which one you can find it faster.

By the way, you can't find the KLCC Subway outlet because the address is incorrectly entered. It is listed as not in any state here.

Red tomatoes

                                                                                      On the Menu
Tomatoes are best eaten fresh. Cut them just before preparing your sandwich. In fact, they should be the last thing to cut. If you have to prepare them beforehand, refrigerate them immediately after cutting but don't freeze them. When ordering a sandwich, look at the tomatoes before you add them your sandwich. If they look too soft or has started shriveling around the where it was cut, give it a pass.
Some people don't put them in sandwiched because they don't like tomatoes. But really, tomatoes are good for you. Three antioxidants are present in tomatoes: beta-carotene, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C. It also has four major carotenoids: alpha- and beta-carotene, lutein and lycopene. A lot of it is in the skin or peel. Tests have shown that the human intestinal cells absorbs more carotenoids with the peel on. When tomato paste was tested with tomato peels, it absorbed more compared to when tomato paste was without peels. So freshly cut tomatoes are better.
Tomatoes also have lycopene. Our body does not produce it naturally. While other fruits and vegetables do contain lycopene, no other fruit or vegetable has a higher concentration of Lycopene than tomatoes. The human body needs Lycopene in order to make use of those powerful anti-oxidants.
Lycopene has also been proven to lower the risk of cancers such as prostate cancer, rectal cancer, and cancers of the stomach if taken in high levels. It is thought that men who eat two or more servings of tomato or tomato products will reduce prostate cancer risk by an average 35%. So not only eat tomatoes, eat lots of them.
The next time you have fresh, tasty tomatoes in your sandwich, enjoy it knowing your doing yourself a favor.

What you may not know: Tomatoes are a fruit, not vegetable. But is often used as a vegatable or served and cooked as a vegetable.
